We should be doing everything we can to make the world a better place.

Niko Bungert, 1. FSV Mainz 05

Niko Bungert: “We’re involved in many different projects, including the ‘Mainz 05 hilft’ organisation’s projects for people in need, various social projects for people of all ages, and our ‘Mission Klimaverteidiger’ climate projects”.

Your window to a better world.
“Whether you’re a professional footballer, a Bundesliga player or a corporate enterprise – it’s important to take on social responsibility, to get involved in community projects and never to forget people who live in less fortunate circumstances. I’m proud that Mainz 05 has been involved in many of its own social projects helping people of all ages and from all walks of life for more than a decade now. The ‘Mainz 05 hilft e. V.’ charity organisation also provides fast and unbureaucratic help to people in Mainz and the surrounding area, many of them marginalised individuals. It’s great that Mainz 05 and its main and shirt sponsor  KÖMMERLING share the same attitudes and values, such as fair play, community involvement and sustainability. In addition to being the club’s sponsor, the foundation “KÖMMERLING Better World Stiftung” provides funding, donations in kind and organises many activities to support Mainz 05‘s social projects. Reflecting the slogan of “Your window to a better world“, the foundation “KÖMMERLING Better World Stiftung” demonstrates an awareness of its corporate social responsibility outside the commercial framework of its business, and it takes advantage of its successful market positioning to give something back to society. Mainz 05 also uses its Bundesliga fame to do good works. It’s fantastic to see Mainz 05 and KÖMMERLING working hand in hand in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility” – Niko Bungert, Mainz 05 football club

Christina Mayer: “We became the first climate-neutral Bundesliga club in 2010. That’s why we’re the perfect partner for KÖMMERLING and its climate-protecting premium windows.”

German Football Association Integration Award: an honour and an incentive.
“Everyone at Mainz 05 is proud to have received so many awards for our wide-ranging community support efforts and social projects. For example, in 2013 we received the German Football Association’s (DFB) Integration Award for Mainz 05’s work in social projects promoting the integration of people with a migrant background and socially disadvantaged individuals. This DFB award paid tribute to the 05 KidsClub‘s integrative projects for children and young adults, ‘05 Youngsters’, ‘05 Classroom’, the ‘05 Classics’ project for senior citizens and our non-profit organisation Mainz 05 hilft e. V. for its work to promote intercultural and social education across all age groups. The award is an incentive for us to continue our project work, and it proves that we’ve been able to make a genuine difference. We’ll be expanding our activities to support the community in the future.” – Christina Mayer, CSR (als Titel wahrscheinlich ok), 1. FSV Mainz 05

Dr Michael Welling: “Our solar roof is one of the biggest PV systems on a football stadium roof in Germany. Every year it reduces the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere by 470 tonnes. Mainz 05 and KÖMMERLING have a strong partnership because of the values we share, such as sustainability.”

On a mission to save the climate: climate neutrality for a better future.
“Sustainability is a priority for the management and the players at Mainz 05. Thinking ahead to the future is also an important element of our ‘Mission Klimaverteidiger’ climate protection project. We were very proud to go down in history as the first climate-neutral Bundesliga club in 2010. We are involved in many climate protection initiatives, one of which is visible to all who visit us on the roof of the OPEL ARENA. The photovoltaic system we have installed there is one of the largest football stadium solar roofs in Germany. Since it was put into operation it has been feeding around 700,000 kWh of electricity into the public grid every year, reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by some 470 tonnes. Our ‘Mission Klimaverteidiger’ project sensitises fans and club employees to climate protection issues. The CSR policy of our main and shirt sponsor  KÖMMERLING and of the foundation “KÖMMERLING Better Word Stiftung” also focus on protection of the climate, conservation of natural resources and responsibility towards the environment – and another reason why the partnership between Mainz 05 and KÖMMERLING is so strong is shared values such as sustainability.“ – Dr Michael Welling, Marketing & Sales Director 1.
